On October 14–15, 2026, ImagingNext returns to Munich, bringing together experts from across the imaging and Vision AI ecosystem for two days of keynotes, technical sessions and industry exchange.

Under the theme “AI-Driven Vision: Shaping the Future of Smart Imaging,” ImagingNext 2026 will explore how advances in sensors, optics, image processing, compute and AI are shaping the next generation of intelligent vision systems.

Day 1: Robotics and Physical AI

The first day focuses on how machines perceive, understand and interact with the world around them.

The program opens with Dr. Sam Waldman, Co-Founder, CEO and President of Neutralino Space Ventures, who will present the keynote Imaging on the International Space Station.” Drawing on his experience developing sensors and instruments for SpaceX programs including Dragon, Falcon 9 and Starlink, Waldman will share insights into imaging technology operating in some of the most demanding environments.

From space, the program moves to the factory floor. Maycon Douglas da Silva Carvalho, Senior Solutions Architect at NVIDIA, will explore how Vision AI enters industrial environments through perception AI, multimodal architectures and edge deployment.

Further sessions from experts at RealSense, DLR, Ideas on Board, Qualcomm and Agile-Robots will cover topics ranging from perception and robotic manipulation to camera software, edge AI and embedded vision.

Day 2: From Photons to AI

The second day takes a closer look at the complete imaging pipeline and how each layer of a vision system influences AI performance.

Tom Jellicoe, Growth & Business Development Lead at SONY, will open the day with a keynote on how advances in image sensors are enabling new capabilities in industrial vision.

Sessions from FRAMOS, Altera, STMicroelectronics and Eclipse Optics will then explore image quality simulation, HDR processing, sensor and SoC co-optimization, and the design of imaging systems built for AI applications.

Together, the sessions highlight one of the central challenges in modern Vision AI: successful AI performance depends not only on the model, but on the complete imaging system — from the photons captured by the sensor and optical design to processing, compute, algorithms and deployment.
