The Sony IMX461AQR-C is a high-resolution CMOS image sensor designed with Sony’s advanced Pregius technology, making it ideal for applications that require ultra-high resolution and precise image capture. With a diagonal size of 55 mm (Type 3.4 inch) and an impressive 102 million effective pixels, this sensor is built for industries that need exceptional detail, such as aerial imaging, large-format photography, and scientific imaging. Unlike other Sony Pregius sensors, the IMX461AQR-C utilizes a rolling shutter, making it suitable for still imaging applications rather than high-speed environments.

The IMX461AQR-C provides a resolution of 11664 x 8750 pixels with a pixel size of 3.76 x 3.76 μm, offering unmatched image detail and clarity. The sensor incorporates a 36 dB programmable gain amplifier (PGA) circuit and a 16-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converter, enabling highly detailed and precise signal conversion. The sensor outputs 16-bit digital data, allowing for the capture of 102 million pixels at a speed of 2.7 frames per second (fps) in still picture mode, ensuring that even large, high-resolution images are captured with excellent fidelity.

In addition to still image capture, the IMX461AQR-C supports high-speed 12-bit digital output for moving picture capture through vertical subsampling binning and 3-horizontal pixel weighted binning, optimizing the sensor for both still and motion imaging tasks.
