Product Summary

The IMX461AQR-C is a 102 MP color CMOS sensor with a rolling shutter, optimized for high-resolution imaging in industrial applications.

The Sony IMX461AQR-C is a high-resolution CMOS image sensor designed with Sony’s advanced Pregius technology, making it ideal for applications that require ultra-high resolution and precise image capture. With a diagonal size of 55 mm (Type 3.4 inch) and an impressive 102 million effective pixels, this sensor is built for industries that need exceptional detail, such as aerial imaging, large-format photography, and scientific imaging. Unlike other Sony Pregius sensors, the IMX461AQR-C utilizes a rolling shutter, making it suitable for still imaging applications rather than high-speed environments.

The IMX461AQR-C provides a resolution of 11664 x 8750 pixels with a pixel size of 3.76 x 3.76 μm, offering unmatched image detail and clarity. The sensor incorporates a 36 dB programmable gain amplifier (PGA) circuit and a 16-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converter, enabling highly detailed and precise signal conversion. The sensor outputs 16-bit digital data, allowing for the capture of 102 million pixels at a speed of 2.7 frames per second (fps) in still picture mode, ensuring that even large, high-resolution images are captured with excellent fidelity.

In addition to still image capture, the IMX461AQR-C supports high-speed 12-bit digital output for moving picture capture through vertical subsampling binning and 3-horizontal pixel weighted binning, optimizing the sensor for both still and motion imaging tasks. This versatility makes it an attractive option for a wide range of imaging needs where both high resolution and flexibility are required.

Key features of the IMX461AQR-C include:

  • 102.06 MP resolution (11664 x 8750)
  • Rolling shutter for high-resolution still images
  • Pixel size of 3.76 x 3.76 μm for detailed, high-quality images
  • Frame rate of 2.7 fps for 16-bit still image capture
  • High-speed 12-bit digital output with subsampling for video capture
  • 36 dB PGA and 16-bit A/D converter for precise image data
  • SLVS-EC interface and 544-pin package for flexible system integration

The IMX461AQR-C sensor is particularly effective in applications requiring extreme image detail, such as aerial mapping, large-format photography, and scientific imaging. Its 102 MP resolution ensures that even the smallest details are captured clearly, making it ideal for applications like satellite imaging or precision inspections in industries where resolution is critical. While its rolling shutter limits its use in fast-moving environments, the sensor excels in capturing ultra-high-quality still images.

The sensor’s ability to support high-speed output using vertical subsampling binning and horizontal pixel binning enhances its functionality for video applications as well. With these features, the IMX461AQR-C can handle both still and motion imaging tasks, offering flexibility across different types of imaging systems. The sensor's SLVS-EC interface ensures efficient data transfer, while the 544-pin package allows for easy integration into complex imaging systems.

With its remarkable resolution, advanced imaging features, and versatile output modes, the Sony IMX461AQR-C is a powerful solution for industries that demand the highest levels of image detail and precision. Whether used for still photography, large-scale mapping, or scientific analysis, this sensor delivers unparalleled performance for demanding imaging tasks.
