Product Overview

2.1 MP sensor module with Sony IMX462 CMOS sensor, ideal for low-light and high-speed imaging applications.

This FRAMOS Sensor Module (FSM-IMX462) features the high-performance Sony IMX462 sensor within a compact 26.5 mm x 26.5 mm form factor. The rolling shutter sensor delivers an impressive native resolution of 2.1 megapixels, with an optical format of 1/2.8 inch and a pixel size of 2.9 x 2.9 µm. Equipped with a MIPI CSI-2 interface, it supports up to four data lanes, ensuring rapid data transfer and enhanced imaging capabilities. The FSM-IMX462 is optimized for use in diverse applications, including surveillance, robotics, and embedded vision systems.

As part of the FRAMOS Sensor Module Ecosystem, this module integrates seamlessly with various processing platforms, utilizing a sophisticated connectivity framework. It allows for flexible compatibility with a wide range of FRAMOS Sensor Adapters (FSA) and Processor Adapters (FPA). These adapters facilitate connections to proprietary processing platforms, enhancing the versatility of the module in various project requirements.

For user-specific implementations, the FSM-IMX462 is supported by a standardized Software Pack, which includes reference drivers for popular development platforms such as the NVIDIA® Jetson™ TX2, Jetson™ AGX Xavier™, and Jetson™ AGX Orin™ Development Boards. This comprehensive support enables quick and efficient integration, providing users with the necessary tools to start image streaming and processing right out of the box.

Key benefits of the FSM-IMX462 include:

  • Compact design for space-constrained applications.
  • High-quality imaging capabilities with low-light sensitivity.
  • Extensive software support for rapid deployment and testing.
  • Flexible configurations with multiple lens mount options, including M12 and C/CS-mount.
  • Standardized connectors that simplify integration into existing systems.

Everything required to get started, including accessories, can be purchased off-the-shelf, allowing users to evaluate the module immediately upon receipt. For optimal evaluation, FRAMOS recommends acquiring the FSM-IMX462 along with the relevant platform-specific Development Kit (Devkit).

In summary, the FSM-IMX462 is engineered to meet the demanding needs of modern embedded vision applications. With its compact footprint, advanced imaging capabilities, and robust ecosystem support, it stands out as a leading choice for developers looking to leverage cutting-edge sensor technology.
