FRAMOS Campus Wins Green Building Award in New Construction Category

The FRAMOS Campus project in Čakovec has been awarded the 2024 Green Building and Sustainable Built Environment Annual Award in the New Construction category by GBC Croatia.
GBC Croatia is a member of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) and the European Regional Network (ERN).

This recognition highlights FRAMOS’s strong commitment to sustainable development, energy efficiency, and the responsible use of space and natural resources.

Covering 3,500 m², FRAMOS Campus represents the company’s largest investment in Croatia. Designed as a hub that brings together research, development, and production under one roof, the Campus was developed according to the high DGNB standards. The project emphasizes comprehensive sustainability – across ecological, social, economic, technical, and functional dimensions.

From day one, the guiding principle behind the Campus was clear: sustainability is not a passing trend, but a mindset and a way of working. Through the use of solar energy, integration and protection of green spaces, reduction of CO₂ emissions, and by creating an environment that supports both personal and professional growth, the FRAMOS Campus fully embodies the company’s vision of being a “rock in greenery.”

“This award is deeply meaningful to us at FRAMOS. It affirms that our commitment to responsible and sustainable building truly makes a difference. From a business perspective, it proves that leadership and innovation can go hand in hand with sustainability. We hope to inspire our clients, partners, and future generations to grow with the same values. I’m proud of every FRAMOSian and partner who made this vision a reality.”
Andreas Franz, CEO of FRAMOS

“DGNB criteria were unfamiliar to most of the project teams and contractors, but our shared curiosity and collaborative spirit — across designers, builders, partners, local institutions, and technology contributors — became our driving force.”
Damir Dolar, Director of Embedded Engineering and General Director for FRAMOS Technologies d.o.o. in Croatia

The project was brought to life in collaboration with a network of professional partners who contributed high-quality solutions in terms of energy performance, indoor environmental quality, and architectural functionality.

“Thanks to thorough planning, close collaboration, and a joint effort, we were able to overcome challenges and implement effective, high-quality solutions — ensuring the project’s success.”
Damir Dolar

According to Snježana Turalija, CEO of Blueaudit d.o.o. and DGNB consultant, the FRAMOS Campus sets a valuable example for future sustainable development:

“This project has the potential to spark significant interest in sustainable building — both within the business zone where it is located and across the wider Međimurje county. It stands as a textbook example: knowledge was gathered from the very beginning, then applied in line with one of the strictest DGNB systems, and ultimately validated through successful implementation.”

With this project, FRAMOS demonstrates that sustainable construction can serve as a source of inspiration and a model for responsible business — now and for generations to come.
