FRAMOS appoints Dr. Frederik Schönebeck as Co-CEO alongside Dr. Andreas Franz to strengthen its position in Embedded Vision

Focus on modular embedded camera modules and European-based manufacturing to ensure reliability, resilience and scalability for global markets.

FRAMOS announced a strategic transition from component supplier to a provider of system-ready embedded vision solutions company focused on integrated systems and scalable deployment.

As demand grows for system-ready embedded vision systems across robotics, industrial automation, medical technology, and autonomous applications, customers increasingly seek solutions that combine high-performance imaging with integrated system design, scalability, and long-term availability.

In response, FRAMOS is strengthening its focus on product development, system integration, and scalable manufacturing in Europe. The company will deliver modular embedded vision solutions that combine optics, sensors, processing, and software into deployable industrial systems.

To support this transition, FRAMOS introduces a Co-CEO structure led by Dr. Andreas Franz and Dr. Frederik Schönebeck.

FRAMOS also continues to strengthen its leadership team with Claudia Unterhuber as Vice President Operations & Mergers and Acquisitions, Helke Grund as Vice President People & Organization and Ugur Kilic as Vice President Sales & Marketing. Together, the broader management team ensures continuity across customer relationships, operations, product development, and future growth initiatives.

Dr. Frederik Schönebeck will continue to lead Product & Technology at FRAMOS as Co-CEO, building on his long-standing role in shaping the company’s product strategy.

With a strong technical background in optics, imaging systems, and system architecture, he has been central to advancing FRAMOS’ product development in recent years. In his expanded role, he will continue to drive product direction and strengthen the development of integrated embedded vision systems.

This transition reflects how embedded vision systems are evolving – from individual components toward fully integrated products,” said Dr. Frederik Schönebeck. “My focus is to further build our technical foundation and bring optics, imaging, and system design together into solutions that customers can reliably deploy at scale.”

Dr. Andreas Franz will focus on scaling FRAMOS’ operational and supply chain capabilities, ensuring that products can be manufactured and delivered reliably, in volume, and across global markets while supporting customers throughout the product lifecycle.

Our customers depend on vision systems that perform consistently over long lifecycles and can be deployed at scale without compromise,” said Dr. Andreas Franz. This step strengthens our ability to connect product development with industrial execution and deliver reliable solutions across markets.

FRAMOS believes the future of embedded vision lies in integrated, scalable system architectures that combine deep engineering expertise with reliable manufacturing and lifecycle support. With its embedded vision know-how, optics expertise, and European manufacturing capabilities, the company is positioned to strengthen its role in the evolving industrial vision ecosystem.

With this transition, FRAMOS reinforces its commitment to helping customers develop and deploy reliable embedded vision systems at scale.
