Description

The RealSense™ Depth Camera D457 (Camera Only) is a rugged GMSL/FAKRA stereo camera designed for depth-sensing applications that demand high precision and durability. Housed in an IP65-rated enclosure, the D457 is dust-tight and protected from projected water, making it ideal for use in outdoor or industrial environments. The camera includes wide field of view (FOV) depth sensors and an RGB sensor, both with an 86° FOV, ensuring accurate correspondence between the depth and RGB images. The RGB sensor features a global shutter, which helps improve image quality and eliminates motion artifacts, making the D457 a reliable choice for real-time 3D depth data capture.

The D457’s wider baseline compared to the D415 and D435 models provides better depth accuracy at the same range, with less than 2% depth error at 4 meters. This camera is particularly well-suited for applications in robotics, 3D scanning, and industrial automation, where accurate depth data is critical. Equipped with an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) for advanced motion tracking, the D457 offers superior performance in dynamic environments, allowing for precise motion sensing and depth measurement even in challenging conditions.

Key Features:

  • IP65-Rated Enclosure: Dust-tight and water-resistant for reliable use in harsh environments.
  • Wide Field of View Depth Sensors: 86° FOV for both depth and RGB sensors.
  • Global Shutter RGB Sensor: Ensures accurate depth-to-RGB image alignment with minimal motion distortion.
  • Improved Depth Accuracy: Less than 2% depth error at 4 meters due to wider baseline.
  • GMSL/FAKRA Stereo Interface: High-speed data transfer for efficient depth processing.
  • IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit): Provides advanced motion tracking and sensing capabilities.

Technical Specifications:

  • Package: Camera Only
  • Mount Type: GMSL/FAKRA
  • Enclosure Rating: IP65
  • Field of View: 86° for both depth and RGB sensors
  • Other Features: Global shutter, IMU, All-Pass

The RealSense™ D457 provides reliable and precise depth-sensing capabilities in challenging environments, making it ideal for outdoor robotics, industrial automation, and 3D mapping applications.
